Epithelantha is a member of the plant family Cactaceae. Main distribution area of this species is the United States to northern Mexico. The plants are globular, very small, the surface divided into numerous tubercles arranged in spiraled rows, mostly hidden by numerous small spines. The flowers are very small and appear near the center, the color is white to pink. The name Epithelantha is derived from the Ancient Greek words epi (on), thele ("wart") and anthos (flower).
