Dinteranthus is a member of the plant family Aizoaceae. The species of this genus grow in Namibia and South Africa. The plants are stemless, shortly branched, with age forming mats, 1-3 pairs of leaves, which are very short and thick, nearly as long as broad, lower side much rounded, surface whitish, immaculate or with numerous, little conspicuous dots. The relatively large flowers are bright yellow, and open at afternoon. The name Dinteranthus honors the German botanist Kurt Dinter.
