Sedum is a genus of the plant family Crassulaceae and one of the largest genera within this family. The species of this genus grow almost exclusively in the northern hemisphere, but some species also grow in Central-, East- or South Africa. Plants annual or biennial, subshrubs and shrubs of various shape, stem more or less fleshy, branched, erect or procumbent, the leaves mostly alternate, flat, entire or dentate. Inflorescences mostly cymose, flowers can be white or yellow, rarely reddish or violet.
